Special Recognition to the Latimers
Thank you to the Latimer's for an Endowment Gift to The Lassen Association
The Lassen Association helps the LVNP in many ways. As per our mission statement, our main direction is through educational and interpretive means. This evidences itself in the items we sell at our two stores and online, workshops we provide, and through our interaction with visitors whose visit we try to make more meaningful.
We have recently received a generous donation from the estate of Sally Latimer, who with her husband, Howard, spent many happy times in LVNP. They came to Lassen often to hike and camp, and spent time at the Lassen Association store. As an educator, Sally appreciated what we do, and what we stand for. Having no children, she decided to donate her estate to us so that we can continue this type of meaningful support to the park.
As a board, we have invested this gift and are using it as an endowment that will allow us to continue to give for years to come. We are very grateful for this gift and will acknowledge it in the park when a place has been determined.
